Lehigh Acres caters to people of all ages. With the recent influx of young families to the area, Lehigh Acres has done an incredible job in building new schools and parks and developing other open areas to accommodate the rush of children under age 18. For senior citizens and active adults, the city and its wooded areas provide excellent opportunities for hiking, biking and hunting. The city itself is bisected by the scenic Caloosahatchee River, which affords locals the luxury of experiencing fishing and boating at its Florida finest.
The city is home to four championship golf courses and has all the necessities typically apparent in a self-sufficient city. A Super Wal-Mart is located downtown, as is four supermarkets, several pharmacies, miscellaneous shopping stores, restaurants, movie theatres, a hospital, medical plazas with outstanding physicians and a top-notch nursing home.
Affordable housing is available in every part of town and there seems to be at least one park for each neighborhood. The beaches of southwest Florida are less than a thirty minute drive away, but with over 237 square miles of inland water encompassing Lee County, the city of Lehigh Acres and its residents have ample opportunity to play in and around these majestic bodies of water. So, if you are looking for a home near the southern tip of Florida, but wish to remain far enough removed from the typical Florida tourist traps, then consider the quiet and friendly community of Lehigh Acres and experience for yourself what fine living is all about.
